The Colwyn Place Plan can enable the local community to positively shape future development by linking to and adding local detail to planning policies set out by Conwy County Borough Council. 

This might include for example local detail about:  

• Protecting and enhancing our natural environment and green spaces 

• Initiatives to promote active travel such as cycling and walking  

• Innovative ideas to help mitigate climate change locally 

• Helping the community and local businesses to prosper and thrive as well as welcoming visitors 

Place Plans were introduced by the Welsh Government as a way of encouraging greater community engagement in local planning decision making. They allow more local knowledge and detail to be added to the Local Development Plan by local communities.

The team have identified three initial themes of People, Community and Place and wish to hear your views on all aspects that are important to you within the areas of Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn, Rhos-on-Sea and Bryn-y-Maen.
